QueerMeNow! Are you in need of a blog which focuses only on the gay porn industry? With topics spanning from all the latest news from the adult industry, to all the best snippets and scenes from the biggest gay porn studios. Well, look no further, Queermenow.net is one of the biggest gay porn blogs that we have to offer. I have reviewed a lot of gay porn blogs in my time and I find that a lot of them don’t really know what they are aiming for, they tend to try and be a general news website or just a hardcore porn post. Luckily, This site nails both and manages to hit both topics with just the right amount. A lot of sites struggle to strike a balance, and some put so many embedded videos on the main page, that it takes about ten years to load a webpage. That’s not what we want, luckily this doesn’t suffer that problem.
With the advent of tube sites, blogs have taken a backseat. I find them better though for catching up with all the latest scenes, as they usually have a large description. They are also really handy to keep you up to date with what’s happening with the various studios and what their plans are. Sometimes, you might get lucky and get a behind the scenes sneak peek of the latest scene that they are teasing. I’ve seen various interviews with pornstars, which never hurt, as they are usually accompanied by hot naked pictures of men. Now, I know a lot of you don’t give a hoot about what’s happening in the adult industry, but if you are curious or keen about that stuff, there is plenty of information about that also. I understand, though, if you’re here for the hot men. That’s what I came for, anyway.
Hot Topics are the key
If you’re hoping to watch some full length scenes here, then you are shit out of luck. As I mentioned before, this is a blog for various snippets and teasers of scenes. Think of it like a press release. They add a post of a scene, upload a bunch of pictures associated with the scene, then add a brief description. The description usually has a link out to the site, and you go from there. The blog itself is free, it teases you and then wants you to go and signup for a membership. That is how they make their money. This is fairly standard for a gay porn blog, however, QueerMeNow covers topics within the adult industry which really catches the eye. They go into great detail about certain models and certain issues, and the best part is, you can also comment on the posts and add in your views, amongst others. It can cause quite a debate, judging by some of the comments.
You will find a lot of the posts are mainly promoting cam sites, which I don’t mind, but it can feel a bit repetitive at the end. Sure, some of the guys are smoking hot, but there’s only so much of the same model I can see before my interest peaks and I get very bored. It would be nice if there was some variety. The blog mainly contains a boatload of pictures though, in very high quality, so I have no complaints there. Clicking the pictures won’t send you to the outer ends of the internet either, you will get the nice full size image.
What I also liked, was the model profiles, especially introducing us to some of the newer hunks in the industry. Small details like this gets overlooked, especially when browsing tube sites. You will take models for granted, but these guys actually have personalities, well some do. The interviews show us how they got into the industry and what their plans are, you will also get to see their debut scenes, so you can keep an eye on them for the future. To be fair, this blog is totally free, so I can’t complain much, I just wish there was a bit more variety and a few more videos.
The other issue I find with blogs, is that they never provide the full experience, mostly teasers. For instance, there’s a nice picture of a huge dick twink on the main page, but it looks photoshopped. I went and checked the other pictures, and because its content provided from sponsors, it doesn’t show me any more pictures of his dick. I also hate that a lot of the pictures don’t show the pop shots, which is annoying but understandable as they don’t want to give anything away for free. I find it quite strange, though, because blogs like these are competing with the big tubes, which provide full length videos for free. They need to add some more content, possibly some homemade videos wouldn’t go amiss.
Fairly simple design
The website’s design is plain as they come, even the logo is fairly greyscale. The white background works fine for this, as we are only looking at pictures, so it maintains a fairly neutral colour. It loads super quick and works well on mobile, so I can have no complaints there. The navigation bar links out to some movie and cam sites, and even a gay porn site. All these are paid though, whether they are affiliated with this site or not, I have no idea. They seem to be worth checking out though, and ad free for the most part.
Your ad blocker might be working overtime here though, it does contain a lot of ads. The sidebar especially is littered with banner ads and affiliate links to other sites. If you’re looking for premium gay porn sites, then feel free to check out luvgayporn’s collection. I wouldn’t say the ads are intrusive, but they do make your eyes deviate from the content a little, as they are all animated ads, which can be a nightmare. Especially browsing on a mobile device. Still, the main site’s content is free and updated daily, so I can’t really have any complaints.
What I do heavily dislike, though, is the filtering and search options. They are borderline non-existent. Apart from the categories listed below each blog posts, you can’t really delve into anything deeper. There are no categories for pornstars, or by niche. You can use your imagination and search for something via the search bar, but I find that broken and doesn’t really bring up what I’m looking for. Most of the posts are filled under “pay site spotlight” or “gay porn spotlight” which to me is the same thing. There is no singular pornstar tagged, or anything like “bareback” or “threesomes”. I was quite disappointed by that, I would have thought a blog as old as this one would have the categorization on point. We can’t have it all, can we?
They have a decent newsletter which you can sign up for, using the navbar at the top. The newsletter comes weekly, and keeps you up to date with the ongoings in the industry and the latest updates the site has. If you’re a huge fan of this site, you can sign up. I personally hate any sort of email spam, so I unsubscribed myself, but some of you may enjoy it.
To Sum up
Queermenow.net has been around since the early 2000s. There are tons of content dating back nearly two decades. Yes, the design is a bit dated and the filtering options are non-existent. What it does best though is provide you with daily updated pictures and news about the gay porn industry. Think of it like a newspaper, with the porn as extra. I know it’s not groundbreaking, but if I was to read a blog, then this would definitely be the one I’d check out. Most of them follow the same formula, however, this is tried and tested. You won’t be spammed with ads or anything like that, it has built its trust up over the years.
The picture quality is amazing, and whilst the posts themselves aren’t filled with ads, the sidebar is, so be careful where you click. You can enjoy safe and easy mobile browsing with this site, so whenever you’re bored in the morning and need something to read, head on over and check it out. It beats the newspaper anyday!
